Facebook is the 3rd most visited website in the world. There are over 1.3 billion active users every month, it is in 70 different languages, average time spent on Facebook per visit is 18 minutes, and there are 1 million links shared every 20 minutes! These are just some of the stats provided by Statistic Brain Research Institute. So of course it begs the question, How to Make Money on Facebook?
3 Methods of Making Money on Facebook
1. Be an Affiliate Marketer – Whatever your passion is, there is a company out there that provides a product or service and offers an affiliate program for you to promote that product or service and in turn get a commission upon a sale.
For example, if you like music and love the guitar, just type in Google: Guitar Affiliate Programs and here is what comes up:
Or if you love cars, you can build a Fan Page around Hot Rods, or sports cars, or muscle cars, or even a particular car, like Corvettes or Mustangs, the more niche the better(provided there is enough interest). Type into Google: Car Parts Affiliate Programs and here is what you get:
Once you have your area of interest and affiliate program, then build a Facebook fan page around that interest. So again with the above example, take cars. I may create a Fan Page called Muscle Cars. Write great content a couple times a week around this niche.
It could be about a certain muscle car. It could be about how to make your car faster. All that matters is that you put out content that is valuable. Information that you know you would want to read about. Then every other week or so put in a plug on where they can get the best parts to soop up their car.
Now it used to be that you could just post a direct affiliate link right on to Facebook, but that has now changed. Because of this I highly recommend you have a website as well. Then, when you post a link about automotive parts, that link will go to your website, which is not considered an affiliate link, the reader will read more and then make the purchase from your site. This is acceptable.
I always recommend you read Facebook’s Policy at least once a quarter to make sure you are staying within the guidelines. You don’t want to get kicked off of Facebook. If you get a warning, adhere to it and be thankful they didn’t just shut you down!
2. Sell Fan Page Posts – If you are not a big fan of affiliate marketing or just don’t like the selling aspect of it then you can Sell Fan Page Posts to advertisers. That’s right, build up you Fan Page likes large enough and advertisers will pay you to allow them to post on your Fan Page! Awesome huh!?
ShopSomething.com is just one of those places you can operate something like this:
ShopSomething.com makes it very simple for you to either buy or sell the Fan Page Post:
The more of a following you have, the more you can demand for selling each Fan Page Post.
3. Sell Your Own Product – Last but not least you can sell your own product. Now I don’t recommend this method for the beginner marketer. Reason being, you really need to have a good understanding of how to drive traffic to a specific location i.e. a website, landing page, or sales page. You also need to have your own website as well due to the changes of Facebook’s policy.
The great thing about selling your own product is that you get to keep 100% of the commissions. Let’s take the example of the person that loves music, especially the guitar. This person may develop an ebook or PDF titled “Play the Guitar in Under an Hour.”
Their website will contain tons of great content around music and learning how to play the guitar and the best guitar’s to buy. Post all the valuable content on Facebook, then once every other week or so throw in a post that leads them to your website to purchase your ebook/PDF. It is the same strategy as an affiliate marketer but here you are marketing your own product vs. someone else’s.
By the way, just a free tip here, that ebook you see just above and to the right, I made that in less than 10 minutes….for FREE. All I did was type in Google, yep, you can find out everything there, “How to create an ebook cover for free and it brought up a couple of options. I chose a company called Adazing. I have never used them before, but will probably do so now because it was very easy. They only have a couple of templates but it was good enough for my example above. I Re-wrote the text and found a guitar image…yep again in Google under images and uploaded it into the ebook. And there you have it, the finished product above.
